His approach to care reflects not only decades of medical expertise, but also the deep personal experiences that shaped him from childhood.
A Personal Calling Rooted in Family
Caring for adults with geriatric needs is a human mission.
Dr. Guittari grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey, in a home where Alzheimer’s and dementia were part of daily life. As a child, he watched his mother care for multiple generations—his grandparents and great-grandparents—with extraordinary patience, sacrifice, and devotion. This early exposure taught him that caring for older adults is not just a medical responsibility.
These experiences instilled in him a lifelong commitment to:
- Treat every patient with dignity
- Support families through difficult medical decisions
- Remain present through the final years of a loved one’s life
- Offer guidance, comfort, and stability
This personal foundation continues to shape how he treats patients and their families today.
A Career Built on Service, Leadership, & Expertise
Since becoming a licensed physician in 1991, Dr. Guittari has gained extensive experience across acute, subacute, outpatient, and long-term care settings. His work spans hospitals, nursing homes, hospice programs, and community-based care.
